MONTREAL, Que. – A 50-year-old Montreal trucker was run over by a car and killed Oct. 4 while he was setting up road flares on the Decarie Expressway.

Ibrahim Omar Bachache’s tractor-trailer had stalled in the right-hand lane at about 3 p.m., when he began to set up the warning required by law, police say. He was placing the last flare when struck by a station-wagon driven by a 22-year-old Montreal man.

Bachache was killed instantly. n
