LONDON, Ont. –Despite the trials and tribulations the trucking industry is facing, its people are still digging into their collective pockets to help children who are facing far greater challenges in their personal lives.

So far this year, NAL Insurance’s Trucking for Wishes program which raises money for Make-A-Wish, have participated in five events and raised over $25,000. The bulk of the funds ($17,980) came from the Truck News/Chevron charity golf tournament, but money was also raised at the Road Today Truck Show, the Stirling Truck Show and the Fergus Truck Show.

In fact, program coordinator Aaron Lindsay and his wife Lyndsay also raised more than $4,000 through fundraising efforts associated with their own wedding.

“Since our inception in 2007, this now puts us at over $100,000 raised for children with life threatening illnesses,” said Lindsay. “That is equal to approximately 12.5 wishes granted by the trucking and transportation industries.”
