MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – An accident at a trucking yard in Mississauga has claimed the life of an employee, local media reported in January.

A 30-year-old man was reportedly killed after getting pinned under a tractor-trailer.

He was trying to fix the rear brakes on a tractor-trailer when it backed into him around, Peel police Det. Stephen Duivesteyn told local media.

“It was at a trucking yard where employees shunt trucks by moving trailers to a dock and loading them,” Duivesteyn told the Toronto Star.

“It looks like the victim was doing something with the rear brakes, trying to free the brakes and moving it back and forward when he got pinned.”

The truck yard was located in the Derry Rd/Dixie Rd. area. Police investigators said charges had not been laid and “All accounts appear that this was purely accidental.”
