UFA introduces portable fuel tank rental program

CALGARY, Alta. – United Farmers of Alberta (UFA) has introduced a new tank rental program so fleets can conveniently fill up their trucks at their terminal or work site.

Mike Lovin, business development coordinator with UFA, says the company offers double-walled, skidded tanks ranging in size from 2,200 litres to 50,000 litres. He says the greatest benefit of the program is increased productivity.

“Fuel management is a big benefit as well as employee and time management,” Lovin says. “Your drivers aren’t sitting at the cardlock drinking coffee for two hours.”

The tanks placed in customers’ yards can be tied into a cardlock system and UFA’s wireless monitoring system allows it to refill the tank when needed.

“We can view the tank levels and the volume usage and we come out when required (to refill the tanks),” Lovin explains.

Customers pay a monthly fee for the tank rental, which can be delivered to a permanent yard or a temporary construction site. Lovin suggests fleets operating 10 trucks or more are ideal candidates for the program.

The program is the first of its kind, says Lovin, and so far the response has been strong. For more information, call (780) 499-6606.
