PICKERING, Ont. – Verspeeten Cartage Ltd. is equipping 56 trucks in its fleet with an aftermarket retrofit solution that provides combustion enhancement by mixing hydrogen and oxygen into a vehicle’s intake air to provide the engine with a more complete burn of the fuel.
Verspeeten, one of Canada’s largest privately owned motor carriers, has purchased the Jetstar units from Dynamic Fuel Systems, following a five-month test of the technology on a sample group of its trucks which met or exceeded expectations for fuel savings.
“Over the course of the past five months we have seen significant fuel reduction and cost savings on our trucks. The installations will be on both our fleet and our owner/operator trucks,” said Dennis Verspeeten. The company operates a fleet of approximately 600 trucks, including their owner/operator group.
Thomas Fairfull, president and CEO of Dynamic Fuel Systems, said the magnitude of the order and the fact that it’s with one of Canada’s most prestigious carriers “serves as a substantial validation of the commercial benefits of the Jetstar.”
“We are extremely proud to be able to support Verspeeten through enabling substantial fuel savings at a time when fuel costs are hitting all-time highs. Based on the results from the Verspeeten program and the subsequent purchase order, we feel extremely confident that several of our other Fleet Beta programs will be announcing similar orders in the very near future,” added Fairfull.
Verspeeten is an award winning TL carrier to the automotive industry and transports “just-in-time” parts to the North American market. It has won General Motors’ prestigious Supplier of the Year Award multiple times. This Award is given to outstanding suppliers exemplifying top performance in the areas of quality, service, technology, and price.
Dynamic Fuel Systems Inc., founded in 2001, is engaged in the manufacture, distribution, installation and marketing of a transportable hydrogen generator retrofit targeted for use in the heavy tractor trailer industry. The patent-pending Jetstar is its flagship product.
