Waste oil heaters should be banned

Dear Editor:

Wow, that’s all I can say. Your editorial sucked. Your opinion sucked. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Yes, you’re a voice for the trucking industry and yes you have to support the trucking industry. But get some facts and figures first please.

The global environment we have is screwed because of all industry. Transportation is one of the biggest contributors there is to the drastic changes our world has seen in the last three decades. Seventy-five per cent of all carbon dioxide produced by man is generated by the transportation industry.

The world environment is dangerously close to a meltdown because of all industry, not just trucking.

If the entire world doesn’t make some very, very drastic changes in the next 20 years, there will be an ice age within a century from now.

I don’t have a problem with the government stopping the burning of waste oil, if it will prevent 40 tonnes of emissions per furnace.

If we don’t start doing and stop talking, none of this will matter anyways.
