MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – West End Tread System hosted the grand opening of its new Ringtread plant in Mississauga Nov. 4.

According to company officials, the evening event was a success, with over 70 customers and suppliers in attendance.

West End Tread System is a joint venture of the two Ringtread retreaders already in Canada: RTS in Montreal (the first Ringtread plant in North America) and West End Tire in Winnipeg.

On hand for the event and ribbon-cutting ceremony was Mario Marangoni, founder and chairman of the Marangoni Group, producer of the Ringtread, as well as key executives.

Marangoni was recently inducted into the Tire Hall of Fame in Las Vegas for his ongoing contributions to the tire industry.

West End Tread System’s use of the Marangoni Ringtread is exclusive. According to company officials, the splice-free retreading system boasts longer tread life, increased traction and reliability over traditional spliced systems.
