Western Star brings sleeper comfort to new heights

Western Star is rolling out the welcome mat on an improved line of sleeper cabs, bringing a comfortable night’s sleep within a few tall steps from the driver’s seat.

In developing three additions to the Stratosphere line, Western Star focused on providing customers with additional headroom and a flat floor between the cab and the sleeper for easy navigation between the compartments.

“This means a person way over six feet tall can stand up and walk through to the sleeper compartment, without crouching or bending over,” noted Matt Stevenson, manager of product strategy for Western Star.

The line of Stratosphere sleepers now includes 40- and 54-inch sizes, as well as an 82-inch Ultra High model. The new additions increase the Stratosphere family to five, joining the 68- and 82-inch sleepers, which all include the distinctive walk-through design, a flat floor, roof-mounted air horns and marker lights.

Western Star officials unveiled the new sleepers in Phoenix during a press event just prior to the company’s annual North American dealer meeting.
