KELOWNA, B.C. – Three proprietary Freightliner features have been added to Western Star trucks.

The EzyRider air-suspension seat will be made standard in all Western Star Constellation sleeper-equipped trucks.

The product of a two-year research and development project at Western Star’s parent company, Freightliner LLC, the EzyRider is said to strike the perfect balance between plush comfort and healthy ergonomic support.

Taller and wider than standard seats, the pneumatically-controlled chair is designed to support drivers of all shapes and sizes.

The second feature is X-One, an innovative wide-base tire.

Designed in cooperation by Freightliner and Michelin, the X-One takes the place of conventional dual truck tires and offers weight savings, improved fuel economy and longer tread life.

The new 445/50R22.5 X-One XDA tire is exclusively available on Western Star-, Sterling- and Freightliner-brand Class 8 trucks.

The final offering is the AirLiner front-suspension system. It is said to provide the comfort associated with air suspensions while offering added stability and weight savings.

Rated at 12,000 lbs., the AirLiner front suspension was previously available exclusively on Sterling- and Freightliner-brand trucks. n
