What fleets consider first when selecting new tires

The traction and handling provided by a tire, followed by the run-out mileage offered by the tread and the quality behind the tire’s manufacture are the three most important attributes fleet buyers consider when purchasing tires, our annual Equipment Buying Trends research indicates. All three of those considerations were rated a 4 out of 5 in terms of importance. Fleets also appear to be quite satisfied with whatever brand of tires they are currently using. Only 13% of our survey respondents said they planned to optimize their future tire costs through better product selection. More than two-thirds said they would do it through in-house preventive maintenance services such as fleet inspections, flat checks, and air pressure maintenance.
