TORONTO, Ont. – AirIQ has launched a wireless dispatch service for the trucking industry, as part of its growing wireless fleet management system.

The program was on display for the first time at Truck World, and is available immediately.

“We felt we had to really configure this specifically for the trucking market,” says Miguel Gonsalves, vice-president of marketing and investor relations for AirIQ.

The Internet-based program allows dispatchers to keep in contact with drivers, who can receive text messages via their cellphone or other handheld wireless device. The driver can access all the pertinent information about an available load on his wireless device and immediately accept the load providing an estimated time of arrival and any other information required.
