Best Fleets to Drive For, a North America-wide evaluation program recognizing the best workplaces in trucking, has opened registration for its 2026 Education & Awards Conference. The event will take place March 16–17, 2026, at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.

Now entering its 18th year, Best Fleets to Drive For is an annual survey and contest that identifies for-hire carriers providing exceptional workplace experiences for drivers. Produced by CarriersEdge, an online driver training provider, the program is open to all for-hire fleets operating 10 or more tractor-trailers in Canada or the U.S.

Fleets are evaluated across multiple categories, including human resources practices, operational strategy, professional development, and work-life balance. The evaluation process includes a comprehensive driver survey and in-depth interviews with company representatives.

The Top 20 Best Fleets, along with Hall of Fame inductees and Fleets to Watch, will be announced Jan. 27, 2026. During the March conference, winning fleets will be recognized, and the overall winners in the large, small, and Hall of Fame categories will be revealed.

The two-day event will feature sessions on emerging industry trends, innovative driver programs, and strategies for improving recruitment and retention. Attendees will also hear directly from the winning fleets.

“The Best Fleets evaluation process produces a wealth of insight and information each year,” said Jane Jazrawy, CEO of CarriersEdge, in a news release. “Conference attendees will have the opportunity to get a detailed look at what makes the winning fleets successful, and what they can do to adapt those ideas for their own success.”

Last year, several Canadian carriers were recognized for providing the best working environment for truck drivers and owner-operators. Six Canadian fleets — based in Quebec and Ontario — were recognized among the Top 20 Best Fleets to Drive For. Those include C.A.T., Challenger Motor Freight, Fortigo Freight Services, Ippolito Transportation, Kriska Holdings, and Wellington Motor Freight.

Winnipeg-based Bison Transport and Milton, Ont.-based Transpro Freight Systems have secured spots in the Hall of Fame, and Steve’s Livestock Transport in Blumenort, Man., made the Top Five Fleets to Watch list.
