LCVs, oversized loads banned from SB 400 ramp to EB 401

by Truck News

TORONTO, Ont. — Construction on the ramp linking southbound Hwy. 400 to the eastbound 401 will cause traffic delays over the next eight months and will prohibit long combination vehicles and oversized loads from using the single-lane ramp.

Work there is expected to continue to December, the Ontario Trucking Association warns.

The southbound Hwy. 400 ramp has been reduced to a single lane and will remain that way till Dec. 1.

This, coupled with the narrow shoulders, means LCVs and oversized loads are not permitted.

“The closure is anticipated to have a big impact on traffic, so much so that the MTO will be installing extra portable variable message signs on the 400 near Rutherford Road and Finch Avenue warning motorists of delays and providing travel information,” the OTA warned.
