The PrePass weigh station bypass system is now being used by more than a half-million trucks, including some from eight Canadian provinces.
Nearly 41,000 trucking fleets are enrolled, according to Help Inc., which runs the program. Bypass is available at weigh stations and ports of entry in 31 states. Only carriers with good safety records and all necessary credentials can participate.
“As of March 1, 504,169 trucks from 49 states, the District of Columbia and eight Canadian provinces were enrolled in PrePass,” said Karen Rasmussen, Help Inc. president and CEO. “Safe carriers and our public sector partners know Help uses only the most complete, most accurate data to electronically screen and qualify carriers before they are authorized for bypass at PrePass-equipped sites. We expect continued growth both in the number of fleets and enrolled trucks, and in the number of PrePass-equipped weigh stations throughout the country.”
The system can be used by US and Canadian carriers at 310 weigh stations and ports of entry.
