Bradley Takes Case for Entry-Level Driver Training to Ministry of Colleges
TORONTO - Following a meeting with Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne on the shortage of qualified truck drivers, Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) President David Bradley took the issue to Brad Duguid, Minister of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU).
No University Degree, No Go?
TORONTO - Last week, in a story about the Canadian workforce, the Globe and Mail quoted a Doctor Harvey Weingarten, President and CEO of the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO), on the matter of truck driving. Weingarten was quoted as saying he had met a Canadian carrier who insisted his drivers have university degrees.
