MATS: Kinedyne unveils new winch design

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Recent investments in new manufacturing capabilities make it possible for Kinedyne to introduce a new winch design that includes a cast mandrel.

The new design is engineered to meet the most demanding load securement applications faced by drivers on the road, says the company.

The new winch features a one-piece mandrel, made of cast steel, with an improved web slot radius that significantly decreases cutting and abrasion on webbing. The mandrel cap holes, designed to receive the winch bar tip, are more resistant to “egging” or elongation over time, offering improved safety for the winch bar operator.

The new winch outperforms the stated Working Load Limit rating in Kinedyne’s laboratory tests, thus extending the three-to-one safety margin recognized as the industry standard.

“We’ve invested heavily in this project and the end result is a stronger, safer, and longer-lasting winch,” says Larry Harrison, vice-president of sales and marketing for Kinedyne. “We made these upgrades without adding any substantial cost to the product so customers will now get a better product at a competitive price. In fact, we’re so confident in our new winch that we’re offering the industry’s first three-year warranty on all Kinedyne cast mandrel winches.”
