LONDON, Ont. — Accuride Canada Inc. has reached a new three-year contract agreement with 585 hourly employees at its London steel truck-wheel manufacturing plant.

Accuride entered into early contract negotiations with the Canadian Autoworkers Union (CAW), which represents the company’s London employees. Their current contract doesn’t expire until next March 13. The new contract runs concurrent to the existing one and expires in March 2006.

Under the new contract, workers at the London plant will see incremental general wage increases, improvements to pension and benefits, and provisions that will make operations at the London plant more effective and efficient, the company says in a news release.

Accuride Corp. is North America’s largest manufacturer and supplier of wheels for heavy- and medium-duty trucks and trailers.

In addition to the London truck wheel plant, Accuride also has a commercial tire and wheel assembly joint venture facility in Talbotville, near St. Thomas.
