Agility CNG system lighter, shorter, with new features

by Today's Trucking

Agility Fuel Solutions has released the fifth generation of its ProRail CNG fuel system, building on an offering that was first introduced in 2016.

Current options range from 30-60 diesel gallon equivalents (DGE), and can be installed on one or both sides of a vehicle.

The latest models continue to use Tuffshell ACF Type 4 CNG cylinders made with carbon fiber, but the system is 10 inches shorter and 30 lb. lighter than the previous generation of equipment. ProRail says that makes it 25% lighter than competitive models.

The now-standard Fuel Management Module also offers a fast-fill receptacle that refuels 13% faster, while also incorporating a defueling receptacle and ignition disconnect fuel caps. And the Agility BlueiQ Smart Guage offers real-time fuel economy, fuel level, and distance to empty. Cummins Insite and Connected Diagnostics can also be integrated with most major telematics providers.

There are safety enhancements as well. The standard BlueiQ system includes built-in temperature sensors that offer early warnings about potential thermal events, while an integrated bumper bar offers protection from side impacts.
