EUGENE, Ore. — Air-Weigh’s trailer scale is now standard on Kalyn Siebert heavy-haul trailers, according to the company.

Kalyn Siebert is a subsidiary of Heil Trailer International. The company says all Kalyn Siebert heavy-haul trailers will now come with a factory-installed Air-Weigh trailer scale with LED overweight warning light.

Drivers will be able to use the warning light as an indicator of when the load is properly distributed while adjusting the suspension slider, the company says. This is intended to speed up the loading process and eliminate the need to weigh in at an in-ground scale. Other benefits include allowing drivers to avoid scale fees, reduce out-of-route miles while driving to in-ground scales and increase the production portion of their hours-of-service.

Air-Weigh says its on-board trailer scale shows actual on-the-ground trailer axle weight on a back-lit digital display. It can be paired with an on-board tractor scale to show the tractor-trailer’s GVW.
