STE-AGATHE-DE-LOTBINIERE, Que. — Alutrec has announced it will be the first manufacturing trailers company in Canada to introduce Hendrickson’s air disc brakes on its trailers. The first trailer equipped with this new system will be on the road in early 2006.

The technology is designed to provide to the trailer’s operator an improved performance reducing the stopping distance. According to company officials, air disc brakes, while improving stopping distance at high speed, also provide more consistent braking during extended braking application such as descending long grades.

Alutrec proposed an additional tool that is designed not only to improve braking performance but to anticipate future trends and requirements.

“Hendrickson’s axles (have been) part of standard equipment on all the Alutrec’s trailers from the beginning,” company officials said. “We are proud partners sharing the same desire to best serve our industry and client.”
