And Now to Recap …

NORTH BAY, Ont. — Goodyear Canada is sort of retreading its 21-year-old plant in this central Ontario city.

The company has redesigned the retreading process and will be taking the new, leaner manufacturing operation into a new 80,000 sq ft plant, slated to open next fall.

Goodyear officials cite an increase in demand for off-road retreaded tires, especially for use in the mining, construction, forestry and recycling industries. And the new process will support continuous production flow.

“Goodyear has been a committed corporate citizen, operating a retread plant in the City of North Bay for the past 21 years,” said Glenn Bennett, Business Centre manager, Goodyear Canada. “Moving the retread operation into a larger facility reinforces our commitment to the Northern Ontario community.”

Goodyear has operations and offices in Ontario, Quebec and Alberta, in addition to a national network of committed independent retailers.
