ArvinMeritor has expanded its remanufactured products lineup to include trailer axles.
PLAINFIELD, Ind. — ArvinMeritor has launched production of a line of remanufactured trailer axles.
Initially the remand axles will be aimed at intermodal carriers, the company announced yesterday. Production began earlier this month at the companys Plainfield, Ind. manufacturing facility.
This is a natural expansion of our remanufactured offerings and builds on our companys long-time trailer axle expertise, said Doug Wolma, general manager of ArvinMeritors remanufacturing business. The customers and end-users recognize the value of our remanufactured components, and to offer trailer axles as part of our portfolio is fully complementary to our strong OE offerings.
The company said its remanufactured trailer axles are produced to strict engineering specifications. The company has long been remanufacturing other components such as axle differentials, brake shoes, transmissions, wedge brake actuators, wedge brake cylinders and transfer cases.
