BATTERY ISOLATORS GET THE MOST OUT OF TRUCK BATTERIES

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Trucks using more than one battery can get the most out of those batteries by employing battery isolators, according to Cole Hersee.

That was the message at the company’s booth at the Mid-America Trucking Show.

Battery isolators save power by directing charging current into the battery with the lower charge. That allows the starting battery to provide a strong burst of energy to start the engine, while the truck’s equipment runs off the second battery. They are ideal for trucks that use a standard battery to start the vehicle and secondary battery to run appliances in the sleeper.

The battery isolators have an extended lifespan because they are built to withstand vibration and extreme temperatures. They are available in amperages ranging from 42A to 250A for systems of 12 to 36 V DC.

More information about Cole Hersee’s battery isolators is available at www.colehersee.com or by calling 617-268-2100, ext. 203.
