BeyondTrucks launches field dispatch tool
BeyondTrucks has introduced a new Field Dispatch capability designed to help carriers digitally capture and manage transportation work that originates in the field.
The San Francisco-based company said the tool is aimed at specialized and dedicated fleets where customer personnel, site managers, field supervisors or drivers often make operational decisions after a driver has already been dispatched.
“Field Dispatch addresses the disconnect between the work being performed and the systems used to manage it by enabling transportation providers to capture and manage work regardless of where dispatch decisions originate. It gives carriers the ability to capture work as it happens, creating visibility, accountability, and operational alignment,” said Hans Galland, CEO of BeyondTrucks.
The feature allows drivers to record customer-directed assignments through the BeyondTrucks mobile application, creating a digital record linked to customer and contract information. The company said the system can capture supporting documents such as bills of lading, scale tickets, photographs and QR-code scans, while also documenting detention time, delays and other special events using time- and location-stamped records.
Historically, many of these activities have been tracked through paper forms, phone calls, text messages and manual data entry, creating administrative burdens and limiting visibility into operations, the company said.
