Bridgestone-Bandag warranty extends coverage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire is extending its warranty for the company’s premium truck tires and casings, increasing the coverage period for seven years and three retreads.

The new limited warranty covers the company’s best-selling Bridgestone-brand premium commercial tires and casing when retreaded with the Bandag process.

If a premium Bridgestone-brand medium commercial truck tire becomes unusable before wearing to 2/32-inch remaining tread depth within seven years from the date of manufacture, BFNT will credit the owner $130. If a premium Bridgestone-brand casing becomes unusable before three Bandag retreads, the owner will be credited $100.

The exclusive new warranty covers the most popular Bridgestone-brand premium medium commercial truck tires: R287 steer, R280 steer, M726 EL drive and M720 drive in 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 295/75R22.5 and 285/75R24.5 sizes, in both G and H load ranges. Tires purchased on or after Sept. 1, 2007 are covered.

Warranty coverage covers the casing for three retreads when it has been inspected and retreaded by Bandag-certified retreaders within seven years from the date the tire was manufactured.

This new extended tire warranty does not cover tire damage due to road hazards, improper use or operation, such as overloading and underinflation, insufficient or improper maintenance, or chemical contamination. See the Bridgestone limited warranty for details.

The new warranty covers on-highway fleet operations only; no on/off-highway tires are included under the premium tire warranty. The “standard” warranty covers Bridgestone medium commercial tires for a period of five years, and does not provide consideration for retreads.
