Bridgestone Americas has introduced the Firestone FS592 steer tire, designed as a replacement for the FS591 and engineered for longhaul and regional trucking fleets.

The new tire comes in four sizes and features an extra 32nd of tread depth and a wider footprint, to deliver more removal miles than its predecessor. It is offering 17% longer life than FS591 — about 18,000 more miles on average, according to Bridgestone. It is EPA SmartWay certified and built with the company’s Enliten technology to enhance performance and sustainability.

“Bridgestone’s next-generation Enliten technology unlocks greater levels of performance, along with an enhanced focus on sustainability, enabling us to make Firestone’s best tire even better,” said Steve Hoeft, president of the commercial truck group at Bridgestone Americas in a news release. “With the new Firestone FS592, we’ve improved several aspects while staying true to the foundation of its predecessor, the FS591.”

The tire features improved casing and tread design. Its casing, engineered with Enliten technology, delivers greater retreadability, added durability, and improved rolling resistance. The tread design utilizes defense grooves and an optimized shoulder rib to help control wear balance and prevent tearing. The tread design also features five ribs engineered to deliver enhanced wear across various applications.
