Built-in Truck Refrigerator

The Truckfridge TF49

The Truckfridge TF49 is a 12/24-volt DC compressor refrigerator with freezer, to fit most Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner Century, Columbia, Coronado, Cascadia, Mack, and 2009 International Pro series trucks. The cabinet opening should measure about 15 in. wide.

The company says it features low power consumption — “will not kill your batteries” — and claims higher quality than most OEM refrigerators. It uses the well known Danfoss/Secop compressor with a reputation, says Truckfridge, for reliability, durability, and performance. The TF49 comes with an unconditional one-year warranty.

The refrigerator holds bottles in both vertical and horizontal positions. The fan-cooled compressor unit is integrated on the upper part of the refrigerator. Installation frame, adjustable thermostat, and interior light are all standard features.

The TF49 is available in two models, the TF49DC and TF49AC/DC, at a base cost of C$599.

Installation accessories will be required in many cases, such as the PPlug power adapter cable that’s needed when replacing an existing Paccar OEM fridge. The FPlug power adapter cable is used when replacing an existing Freightliner OEM fridge. Mounting-bracket sets are needed for new or retrofit installations in the Freightliner Cascadia.

The TF49’s dimensions are 20 1/2 in. high by 15 in. wide and 18 in. depth. Its gross capacity is 49 liters or 1.73 cu ft. Its average power consumption is 24 watts/hour, with an important low-voltage cut-out feature.
