By Any Other Name: Fleetguard now Cummins Filtration

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Fleetguard Inc., a wholly owned business unit of Cummins Inc., is announcing a name change to Cummins Filtration effective immediately.

Cummins Filtration is one of the world’s leading supplier of filtration, exhaust, chemical and coolant products for diesel engines and gas-powered equipment. The company began in 1958 as a single production line with two employees making filters exclusively for Cummins applications. Today, Cummins Filtration has locations on six continents and over 5,500 employees worldwide.

Pamela Carter, president of Cummins Filtration stated, “Cummins has adopted a one company/one name” approach for all its business units. Reducing the number of organizational and subsidiary brands reflects a nimbler, more streamlined business that can fully leverage the strength of the Cummins brand for all its stakeholders, she said.

“The name change allows the Filtration Business Unit to take advantage of the business synergies within the Cummins umbrella of companies,” continued Carter. “As Cummins Filtration, we can provide an even greater opportunity for our customers to leverage the value and dependability of the Cummins name. The one company and one name strategy offers customers unique competitive advantages through our value package of products and services. With this brand strategy, Cummins Filtration can better communicate the global footprint of products and services it offers to first-fit, aftermarket and end user customers.”

Kamini Patel, vice-president of marketing at Fleetguard said the primary product brand will continue to display the Fleetguard name. “We will also manufacture a line of co-branded filters specific to Cummins engine applications which will display both the Fleetguard and Cummins Filtration logo. Our sub-brands and subsidiary names of Nelson and Separation Technologies will move to Fleetguard by the end of the year.”

“It is important to stress that the new name, Cummins Filtration, does not legally affect customer relationships, confidentiality agreements or contracts, or the manner in which we conduct business,” Patel added. “Processes have not changed. Products and services have not changed. We will continue our commitment to always operate with integrity and do what is right for our customers.”
