BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Carlisle Industrial Brake and Friction has produced a new mechanically actuated, sliding caliper brake designed for parking, secondary, and industrial applications.

This new RT 7000 brake was designed to replace in-line drum brakes that experienced problems due to dirt and debris accumulation. The brake has been engineered to fulfill the challenging park and emergency stopping requirements of military, construction, underground mining, agricultural and on/off highway vehicles that are subjected to severe environments.

The RT 7000 is a lever-actuated brake that uses a ball ramp assembly to advance the brake pads towards the disc. The brake has a disc thickness range of 0.38 to 0.44 inches and a disc diameter range of 10 to 25 inches.

The model RT 7000 is made from high strength ductile iron and features a stay-clean sealed design that is ideal for harsh environments, according to the company.
