Carrier Transicold updates Lynx Fleet telematics
Carrier Transicold has updated its Carrier Lynx Fleet telematics platform to provide better analytics, remote diagnostics and location and temperature monitoring.
The platform also works with dry vans and electric transport refrigeration units (TRUs), as well as the latest sensor tech and API integrations, the company announced.

“The Lynx Fleet platform takes TRU visibility and control to the next level with unprecedented insights and the ability to optimize performance like never before,” said James Brand, senior digital product manager for Lynx Fleet Telematics. “It gives fleet managers the data and intelligence they need to make performance-based decisions about operations, maintenance and cold-chain compliance.”
New features include:
- TRU Health to help users manage service activity based on TRU performance rather than calendar alerts and manual checks.
- A new telematics module made for temperature controlled fleets, supporting cellular or dual-mode satellite-cellular communications, featuring a rechargeable battery providing up to 10 days of reporting without vehicle power.
- Support of GPS and telematics sensors for dry vans and other equipment, including TRUs from other manufacturers.
- A new API toolkit that allows data to be shared with most transportation management systems.
- Compatibility with battery-electric TRUs.
Lynx Fleet hardware comes standard on Carrier Transicold X4 and Vector 8000 trailer and rail units, and it can be field-installed on most Carrier Transicold truck and trailer TRUs, the company says.
