CarriersEdge course helps keep tanker drivers safe

CarriersEdge is offering new safety-related guidance for those who work directly or indirectly with tankers, with a dedicated online driver training course.

Falls from tankers, using catwalks, or tripping over a hose are counted among the most common causes of injuries for tanker drivers, the company adds.

The Tanker Injury Prevention course focuses on risks associated with getting in and out of the cab, climbing on and off the tanker, securing cargo, and handling hoses.

Those who complete the course will be able to identify the main causes of injuries and required personal protective equipment, explain how to use three points of contact, know how to avoid injuries when working with hoses, and describe common fall protection methods.
