SAN RAMON, Cal. — Chevrons API CJ-4 and CI-4 Plus heavy-duty engine oils now meet Caterpillars new ECF-2 specification, the company has announced.

Cat recommends ECF-2 rated oils for use with pre-2007 on- and off-road Cat engines no bigger than the C3500. Chevrons Delo 400 LE Multigrade and Texacos Ursa Premium TDX EC CJ-4 oils now meet both Cat specifications ECF-2 and ECF-3.

Chevrons API CI-4 Plus Delo 400 Multigrade, RPM SAE, and Texaco Ursa Super Plus oils meet Cats ECF-2 specification.

Chevron officials say meeting both ECF-2 and ECF-3 allows customers to operate a one-oil inventory strategy for both pre-07 and new engines.

With this announcement, our customers that need oil meeting Caterpillar ECF-2 will have a range of Chevron products to choose from, allowing them to make choices that best address their business needs, said Nicole Fujishige, commercial marketing manager, North America, Chevron Products Company.
