Cognizant, Merchants Fleet partner to modernize fleet management systems
Cognizant and Merchants Fleet have entered into a strategic partnership that they say is aimed at modernizing fleet operations through advanced technology and AI.
The collaboration builds on an existing relationship between Cognizant and Merchants Fleet’s IT team and is part of Merchants Fleet’s broader initiative to modernize business processes across sales, fleet operations, and customer service. Cognizant will apply AI-powered automation, predictive analytics and generative AI tools to help accelerate development cycles and support a more flexible, scalable technology architecture.
The companies say the initiative is intended to address long-standing challenges in fleet management, including billing and payment complications, slow repair turnaround, and limited visibility into vehicle performance.

“Our collaboration with Cognizant plays an important role in driving value for our clients and for Merchants Fleet,” said Matt Dyer, CEO and president at Merchants Fleet, in a news release. “Aligned with our strategy, we’re leveraging Cognizant’s experience and innovative approach to improve processes and elevate the overall client experience – while ensuring we deliver enhanced quality and efficiency along the way.”
“We’re proud to help [Merchants Fleet] with our logistics expertise to navigate industry challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth,” added Vijay Narayan, executive vice president and head of manufacturing, logistics, energy and utilities at Cognizant. “By combining advanced technology, AI-driven insights, and scalable solutions, we’re setting a new benchmark for operational excellence in fleet management.”
