CareDrive and 3Dtracking are partnering to deliver a tool to monitor fatigued and distracted drivers – combining CareDrive’s MR688 driver fatigue and distraction monitor with 3Dtracking’s white-labeled telematics platform.

The CareDrive MR688 focuses on pupils to detect signs of fatigue and distraction, and it captures images using Pentium II processors. The system can also identify and capture such issues in all lighting and weather conditions, including times when drivers are wearing sunglasses, the company says.

The device can also tell when a driver is not looking at the road, operating a radio or navigation system, or talking to passengers for an extended period of time.

Once events are identified, the MR688 sounds an alarm to alert the driver. At the same time, the image is combined with details including the time, date and location, and delivered to the 3Dtracking platform. That offers fleet managers a full view of the event.
