MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Since releasing its device last April, Eaglehook has been lauded by the trucking community for helping them prevent falls and improve safety.

The Eaglehook is a mobile system that was developed to restrain workers from falling from atop transport trailers while engaged in maintenance or repairs. It works by restricting workers from getting too close to the roof’s edge.

“Fall safety in the trucking industry has been ignored for far too long. The facts are falls are the leading cause of injury, in the workplace, we need to do something about that,” the company said in a release.

Early adopters of the product have great things to say.

“Trailer Wizards has a safety first culture,” said Anne McKee, executive vice-president of Trailer Wizards. “Eaglehook has made it easier for our employees to be protected in those situations where fall arrest is not possible.”

Canada Cartage also added: “Safety is a full-time job while maintaining and repairing heavy equipment. The Eaglehook was our shops solution to fall restraint when it comes to trailer roof repairs. This mobile light-weight, easy to use tool just makes sense to any operation requiring fall prevention.”
