BOSTON, Mass. — Cole Hersee recently patented a new rocker switch for trucking applications.

The Digital Signal Rocker Switch is the first rocker switch designed from the ground up to meet current electronic circuitry specifications.

The switch works with any proprietary digital database system in order to operate any kind of electrical equipment. Although it is fully digital, it looks and feels just like a standard rocker switch to a vehicle operator.

The switch tests to over one million on-off cycles, and is configurable in a wide variety of switching options: SPST, DPST, SPDT, DPDT, momentary/continuous, with pilot lights (dependent or independent) or illuminated symbols/text.

The combination of a digital switch and database system can result in a huge reduction in wiring harness size and complexity, says company literature.

The DSRocker complies with existing and proposed microprocessor-based electrical/electronic systems such as SAE J1587, J1708 or J1939.

Cole Hersee was founded in 1924, and today supplies over 2,000 vehicle products and accessories. Cole Hersee products are available as standard or custom-designed products.
