CALGARY, Alta. — Trimac Transportation has opted to include the Bendix Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to its fleet of new Kenworth trucks, Bendix has announced.

Trimac is North America’s largest bulk commodities fleet and winner of the 2007 National Tank Truck Carriers’ Outstanding Performance award for vehicular and personal safety.

The Bendix ESP system comes standard on new Kenworth trucks, but carries a delete credit so customers can save some money by opting not to spec’ the stability system.

“We are constantly focused on maintaining our strong safety program, and the addition of the Bendix technology adds to our already successful initiative,” said Jeff McCaig, Trimac chairman. “Trimac always strives to be a premier partner to our clients, which means we need premier products on our fleet. Full-stability technology works, it’s affordable, and it will help us continue our track record as an industry leader in accident reduction.”

The Canadian Trucking Alliance has taken the position that all new trucks sold in Canada should come standard with stability systems.
