COLUMBUS, Ind. — Owner/operator Simon Giguere of St. Hyacinthe, Que. has won 9,000 gallons of diesel fuel thanks to Cummins.
The Canadian owner/op and American Brad Willard were both awarded the equivalent of a full tanker truck full of diesel fuel through a contest announced at last year’s Mid-America Trucking Show.
Giguere drives a Pete 379 with a Cummins 2005 ISX 565-hp engine hauling paper products aboard an aluminum flatdeck trailer.
The winners were selected through a random draw at Cummins headquarters Nov. 1, 2005. Five runner up prizes of $500 fuel cards were also presented in the U.S. and Canada. The Canadian runners up were: Sylvain LaLonde, Ste.-Marthe, PQ; Len Thomsen, Surrey, British Columbia; Iouiri Kalmykov, Pitt Meadows, British Columbia; Denis Grondin, Laval, PQ; and Simon Choquette, Pierretonds, PQ.
More than 7,000 people entered the 9,000 Gallon Giveaway. Any CDL holder in the U.S. or Canada was eligible to enter.
