COLUMBUS, Ind. — With lackluster truck sales still hampering North America, Cummins has announced it has received an order for 101 Cummins ISX engines.

US-based Wegmans Food Markets placed the order, and will receive the ISX-powered trucks this fall, Cummins announced.

“Cummins is delighted to have been selected as the engine of choice by Wegmans,” said Jeff Jones, Cummins vice-president of sales and market communications. “We are confident that our ISX engines will provide Wegmans with the industry-leading fuel economy our customers have come to expect, while contributing to a cleaner environment.”

For its part, Wegmans said it plans to replace the remainder of the older trucks in its fleets in 2010.
