VANCOUVER, B.C. — Cummins Westport has tapped Ching Gettman as its new general manager for Asia.

Gettman, who is currently the Cummins’ director of marketing in Beijing where she heads the company’s communications in that region, will be responsible for all Cummins Westport sales through Asia.

Hugh Foden, Cummins Westport president, says "We see a significant opportunity for our natural gas engines in Asia, particularly in the near term with transit buses in large Asian cities. We have established credibility and strong relationships with our sales and service success in Beijing and we believe Ms. Gettman is the person to build on that and expand sales."

In addition to selling to customers in China, Gettman will also be responsible for targeting other Asian regions such as Southeast Asia and India, Foden adds.

Gettman recently organized U.S. President George W. Bush’s Clean Energy press event held in Beijing in February.
