DANA SPICER LIMITED-SLIP AXLE

Dana’s Commercial Vehicle Systems group has expanded its line of limited-slip differentials for their Spicer medium-duty single and tandem axles. The new differentials are suited for vehicles – such as emergency vehicles, snowplows, wreckers, and utility trucks — encountering rain, ice, snow, sand, mud and excessive grades that can
cause poor traction conditions.

The new axle differentials feature a helical gear design that provides smooth and fully automatic torque biasing, Dana says, thus eliminating friction plates that can become worn, for reduced maintenance.

Dana is now offering limited-slip differentials to class 4 through six original equipment manufacturers with gross axle weight ratings of 10,000 21,000 lb in the following axles: Spicer S110L, S130L, 17060L, 19060L, and 21060L series single drive axles; and Spicer DL344 series tandem drive axles.
