Davco Technology has launched the Fuel Pro 498, a new diesel fuel water separator and filtration system designed to improve engine protection and increase uptime.

Developed in collaboration with major OEM engineering teams, the Fuel Pro 498 is the next generation of the company’s Fuel Pro 48X series. It combines the coolant heat features of the Fuel Pro 483 with the three-layer filtration technology of the Fuel Pro 488 in a single unit, providing 15-micron filtration, according to a news release.

Davco said the new model is designed to support better engine operation in cold weather while delivering water separation performance that exceeds engine OEM requirements. The company is offering multiple heating options for the Fuel Pro 498, including an updated fuel heater intended to improve cold starts and provide continuous heating during on-road operation.

The system also incorporates Davco’s Seeing is Believing technology, which allows drivers to visually monitor fuel filter status to help reduce maintenance costs and minimize downtime.

Its EleMax design is intended to maximize filter life by optimizing fuel flow through the full filter media. Davco said the design creates a vapor barrier relief that provides a visual indication when the media has become fully saturated with contaminants, helping extend maintenance intervals and support engine uptime.
