Diesel limited in southern U.S. states
ATLANTA, Ga. — A shortage of diesel fuel in the Gulf Coast region and other southern states may make it difficult for drivers to fill up their trucks, several truckstops are warning.
The back-to-back Katrina and Rita hurricanes caused damage and closures to several oil refineries in Louisiana and Texas. That has now sparked a gasoline and diesel supply crunch in several southern U.S. states.
Flying J is reporting low fuel supplies in several cities in Georgia and Mississippi, as well as Missouri and Florida.
TravelCenters of America is limiting diesel purchases to 50 gallons, and reefer purchases to 25 gallons at several truckstops in Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, Nevada, and Tennessee. Go to the company’s website for more information.
