DURABLE REEFER

Dorsey Trailer, celebrating its 100th anniversary, introduced its wear-resistant LiteGuard 5000 refrigerated trailer at the recent Mid America Trucking Show. Claimed to be the toughest, lightest and most energy-efficient reefer Dorsey has ever produced, it offers heavy-duty floor construction, impact-resistant, heavy-duty stainless-steel rear frame, stainless-steel upper coupler, and rear doors with a proprietary fuel-saving seal design.

Dorsey uses time-consuming foam-in-place insulation techniques done by hand — not pre-formed insulation panels — that are said to ensure a continuous seal, thus reducing wear on the trailer’s refrigeration unit and reducing fuel costs. It allows insulation material to be pumped into trailer cavities while still in a liquid state and is said to create a "virtually airtight" barrier.

Dorsey has launched a year-long contest that will culminate in the giveaway of a new LiteGuard 5000 trailer at the 2012 Mid America show. Register online here.
