Eaton clutch actuators for automated manual transmissions

Eaton has unveiled two new concentric pneumatic clutch actuators designed for push-type diaphragm spring clutches.

The actuators work with a vehicle’s automated manual transmission to determine the ideal release position and clutch actuation when the transmission shifts, the manufacturer adds.

These are aftermarket replacements for the clutch actuator used in Detroit Diesel DT12, Volvo I-Shift, and Mack mDrive automated manual transmissions. And replacing them during clutch service can help save repair time and costs, Eaton says.

The actuators will be available for purchase in the third quarter of this year.
