Eaton announced it has launched dozens of new electrified vehicle (EV) fuses, broadening its circuit protection portfolio. The company will showcase the expanded lineup the Battery Show North America, Oct. 6-9.

“These new fuse families demonstrate Eaton’s commitment to delivering solutions that balance performance and cost, supporting the industry’s focus on affordable electrification,” said Mark Schneider, president, Eaton’s eMobility business, in a news release. “We’ve broadened our portfolio to provide customers with the right fuse for the right application — while maintaining the quality and reliability that Eaton is known for worldwide.”

Eaton’s expanded offerings cover the full electrification spectrum, including low-voltage fuses for systems under 70 Vdc (volts DC), high-voltage fuses rated for 500, 900 and 1,000 Vdc, and active and dual-triggering pyro fuses for 650 Vdc and 1,000 Vdc applications. They are designed for use in internal combustion, electrified and plug-in hybrid vehicles, as well as commercial and off-highway vehicles.

The company says it also provides customization capabilities through simulation and in-house testing, enabling both off-the-shelf and tailor-made fuse designs for customers.

“Electrified vehicles are evolving quickly, and having this broadened portfolio allows us to support OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers with tested solutions that meet their specific needs,” Schneider added.
