FCCC unveils all-electric walk-in van

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. (FCCC) has launched the MT50e, an all-electric Class 5 walk-in van that will travel about 275 km on a single charge.

The vehicle comes with a gross vehicle weight rating of 19,000 lb., and matches the body dimensions of the gas- and diesel-powered MT vans. That, the OEM says, will allow existing bodies to be used with little change.

In-cab features include the standard OptiView and its 360-degree cameras, an all-digital gauge display, and DriveTech controls.

It features up to 226 kWh (303 hp), while the battery can be fully charged within three hours.

In terms of maneuverability, the MT50e has a 50-degree wheel cut, while stopping power comes courtesy of hydraulic disc brakes.
