Fontaine Modification offering Peterbilt dual drive conversions

by Today's Trucking

Fontaine Modification says it is offering the industry’s first dual drive conversion for Peterbilt medium-duty conventional Models 535, 536, 537, and 548.

“We’re proud to put our expertise and experience to work to help customers maximize the versatility of these great medium-duty trucks,” said Jamil Young, president, Fontaine Modification Medium and Heavy Truck Operations. “Peterbilt engineers did an amazing job of optimizing driver ergonomics and visibility. Now we’re taking those improvements to the other side of the cab for the specialized applications that require right-hand driving.”

The conversions allow operators to drive from either side of the cab for vocational applications, such as refuse collection and street sweeping. Fontaine already provided a dual drive modification for the Model 220 cabover.

Modifications will be performed at Fontaine’s facility in Chillicothe, Ohio. More information can be found here.
