Freightliner taps new Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing boss

PORTLAND, Ore. — Freightliner LLC has appointed Friedrich Baumann as president of Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing.

Baumann will be responsible for the overall vision, strategy and operations of Freightliner’s growing remanufacturing business, including the company’s five remanufacturing locations throughout North America.

He succeeds Jim Morrow, who elected to retire after nearly 40 years of service with Detroit Diesel.

for Freightliner. Friedrich joined the company in 1993 as a financial
analyst and since then, has held various positions with the company in such areas as controlling, product cost reductions and used truck operations, where he developed a close relationship with major fleet customers of Freightliner and its dealer organization.
