REDDING, Calif. — Karen Zabinski, of McArthur, Calif., is the winner in the Freightliner Trucks Dodge Ram sweepstakes that ran nationwide earlier this year.

Zabinski won the sweepstakes and the grand prize award of a new Dodge Ram Pickup.

To enter the contest, current and potential customers filled out an entry form at Freightliner Trucks dealerships across the country. To qualify, entrants had to possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). The winner was selected at random.

Zabinski, a retired military member, entered the contest at the Los Angeles Freightliner dealership in Fontana, Calif. She and her husband Arnold, both commercial truck drivers, own and operate a 2003 Freightliner Columbia heavy-duty truck. They lease their truck to Swift Transportation Company, Inc., based in Phoenix, Ariz., and haul all types of freight throughout 48 states in a 53-foot dry van trailer.

Zabinski picked up her grand prize, a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab 4×4 with a 4.7-liter Magnum(r) V-8 engine, at Crown Dodge in Redding, Calif. She chose light almond pearl metallic for the exterior color and taupe for the interior.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I ever believe I would win such a fabulous prize in a national sweepstakes!” Zabinski exclaimed. She was elated about winning the Dodge Ram. “It’s still hard to believe, but I’m going to enjoy driving the ‘little truck’ when I’m not driving the big one.”
